RCT Games Privacy Policy

How our games handle your information — short version: analytics are off until you opt in, ads keep our games free, and we never sell your data.

Effective date: June 13, 2026 · Applies to all mobile apps and games published by RCT Games / Rockford Computer Tech Inc., including Box Attack.

RCT Games is the game publishing name of Rockford Computer Tech Inc. ("we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy describes how our mobile apps and games (each an "App") handle information when you use them.

The short version

You don't need an account and we don't ask for your name or email. Analytics are off until you choose to turn them on, and even then they're anonymous. Our games show ads (you can remove them with a purchase) and may offer Game Center leaderboards. We don't sell your data or build advertising profiles about you. The details are below.

1. Analytics — off by default, opt-in only

Analytics are disabled by default. The first time you open the game we ask whether you'd like to share anonymous analytics. We only collect the information in this section if you opt in, and you can turn it back off at any time in Settings → Share Analytics inside the game.

When enabled, we use PostHog to collect:

  • A random anonymous ID generated on your device — not your name, email, or any account, just a number used to count unique players
  • Gameplay events — for example waves reached, towers placed, upgraded or merged, run outcomes, specials used, and menus opened
  • Session information — session length and app version
  • Approximate location (country, region, or city) that PostHog derives server-side from your IP address — we do not collect or store your precise/GPS location

PostHog processes this data on our behalf and stores it in the cloud (United States). See PostHog's privacy policy.

2. Advertising (Google AdMob)

Our games are free and supported by ads served by Google AdMob. To deliver and measure ads, Google's ad SDK may collect and process device identifiers and ad-interaction data (which ads were shown, viewed, or tapped), along with your IP address and general device information.

  • Google acts as the advertising provider under its own policies — see Google's Privacy Policy and how Google uses information from apps that use its services.
  • On iOS, if ads use your advertising identifier to track you across other companies' apps and websites, Apple requires your permission through the App Tracking Transparency prompt. If you decline or aren't asked, you'll receive non-personalized ads. You can change this under Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
  • On Android, you can reset or delete your Advertising ID under Settings → Privacy → Ads.
  • Buying "Remove Ads" turns off ads and the ad SDK's related data collection.

3. Apple Game Center (leaderboards & achievements)

If you use leaderboards or achievements, those features use Apple Game Center and your Game Center identity, which is governed by Apple's privacy policy. We do not receive or store your Game Center account details ourselves.

4. In-app purchases

Purchases such as Remove Ads are processed by Apple through the App Store (StoreKit). Apple handles the payment; our App only receives confirmation (a receipt) that the purchase succeeded. No card or payment information ever reaches the App or us.

5. Data stored only on your device

Your save games, progress, settings, and achievements are stored locally on your device. This data is never uploaded to us. Deleting the App removes it.

6. Third-party services we use

The services that may process data as described above, each under its own privacy policy:

  • PostHog — anonymous analytics (only if you opt in), US cloud
  • Google AdMob — advertising
  • Apple — Game Center and App Store purchases

When you download an App, Apple or Google may also collect information (such as purchase history or aggregated, anonymized crash statistics shared with developers) as described in their policies. We do not receive personally identifiable information from those reports.

7. How we use information

We use the limited information above only to improve our games — balancing gameplay, fixing bugs, and understanding which features players enjoy. We do not sell your data, we do not build personal or advertising profiles about you, and we do not track you across other companies' apps ourselves.

8. Your choices & rights

  • Turn analytics on or off any time in Settings → Share Analytics
  • Buy Remove Ads to stop ads and related collection
  • Use your device's tracking/advertising controls (iOS App Tracking Transparency; Android Advertising ID reset)
  • Delete the App to stop all on-device storage and future collection
  • If you're in the EU, UK, or California, you have rights to access or delete personal data we may hold. Because analytics are anonymous we usually can't tie them to a specific person, but we'll help where we can — contact us below to make a request.

9. Data retention

We keep analytics events only as long as needed for the purposes above. PostHog stores them according to our project's data-retention setting, after which they are deleted. Contact us if you'd like to know our current retention period.

10. Children's privacy

Our games are intended for a general audience and are not directed to children under 13, and you should be at least 13 to use them. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will remove it.

11. Changes to this policy

If an App or update changes how we handle information, we will update this policy and the effective date above before that change takes effect. The latest version will always be available at rockfordctech.com/rct-games/privacy/.
